Product Description

A great vintage "statement piece" ~

This item consists of two strands of "pearls" of graduated sizes interspersed with reflective "aurora borealis" faceted crystals that catch & reflect the light, a process  developed in the late '50's, purportedly by the folks at Swavorski to meet the pent-up demand and and outsize consumer appetite for all things boldly luxurious in a booming post-war economy.   Initially offered only to wealthy buyers, the trend caught fire and was soon in high demand and used on costume jewelry.

Details & Condition:   True vintage in very good condition.  19" long, comprised of intricately strung two strands of faux pearls in graduated sizes interspersed with aurora borealis spacers.  Fishook closure with "Japan" imprinted.  Pearls and faceted aurora borealis spacers seem to be plastic; minor finish loss to two pearls and to fastening finding.

Will arrive in  7x6x1" Ysabel Vintage Online Kraft cotton-filled box.

Ships USPS 1st class envelope
