Product Description

Isn't she just the sweetest?  True vintage ceramic made in Japan features charming blue-eyed child ballerina with a blue bow in her bobbed, curled blonde hair to match her eyes as well as her dance shoes, and a rose at her feet.   Probably made for the United States five & dime store retail trade postwar,  she was meant to be an irrestible inexpensive impulse purchase aimed at moms and grandparents.

Condition & Details:  Very good overall, in original vintage condition, she is molded ceramic with matte hand-painting. Detailing includes shadowing to provide dimension to hair, arms & legs.  She's survived all these years with no chips, cracks or breaks.  There is some roughness like pitting and uneveness apparent in the ceramic, seems to be original, as well as small areas of discoloration on the surface of the paint of the tutu, the bottom of the base, and the back of the shoes (visible in last photo as well as the back view), that we also believe to be original to the manufacturer's process.  Her paint is original, the quality typical of the genre.   Note that she is a pottery, probably molded, unfired  (not China) figurine.

She stands a mite over 6" tall & her base is 3" wide.  She's 2" deep.  Weight shown is packaged & ready to ship.

Ships via USPS small flat rate box
